Since you've mentioned "Dallas", I should share how much of a success this show was in Israel: Show started airing at 1981, so naturally there's a delay. At 1982, several co-stars paid a visit to Israel, and "secretly revealed" to then Prime Minister Menachem Begin (at his request) the identity of J.R.'s killer, which by this point was known to American citizens for about a year & a half. Its' broadcasting ended at November 1984, only for the full run to be shown here over a decade later.

How much I remember those cliffhangers. Although, I probably didn't watch too many Dallas after that, I do remember tuning in to fine out whole shot JR. Happy Days, Brady Bunch. But on Six Million Dollar Man, not only were there cliffhangers, to find out what happened, we would have to crossover into The Bionic Woman. For the most part, certainly for my circle of friends, we had a spoiler free summer prior to the returning episodes.
