Anthony, Anthony, Anthony, you can only do a POST-Dickensian feminist analysis of Automan not a PROTO-Dickensian feminist. I think Street Hawk should be the next populist groundswell choice.

You're right. I can't, but Automan can do anything.

yeah i agree with you steve you guys did a great job on automan and the rest of the show . when ever I have talk about automan people ask me wasn't streethawk on around the same time frame I tell them that automan is just a little older I think. and here s something chuck wagner before this was on general hospital cant rember his character on there . and ive got two out of the three shows u mentioned on dvd anther show u guys could talk about is the father dowling mysteries with tom bosley and tracy nelson rick nelsons daughter I just got the entire dvd collection of that not to long ago and the honeymooners also well see u later Jamie.

I forgot that to say i thought it would have been cool if automan and streethawk would have had a crossover episode with each others shows

Automan - Although I did watch some episodes, I can't remember what really happened in them. But the theme song probably was a hit though. I think I even had a crush on Automan. The Love Boat - I am actually watching the DVDs. Season 1 to 3 are on DVD (2 sets per season, I bought 1 set each.). Other than the two-hour long episodes that may have been in reruns, I discovered most of these were new to me. The first TV movie for the series cast is on Season 1 Vol. Two. Michelle Lee appeared in 3 episodes in Season 1? Also appearing often were Audra Lindley and Juliet Mills. I did notice that they do have one director for the whole episode So sometimes the individual stories could cross paths. It's so much fun to watch. I make a point of watching the DVDs on Saturday nights just for kicks. After I finish watching what I have, I might get the rest of the DVDs, before watching the later episodes on YouTube.

The name "Automan" (which I kept hearing as "Ottoman") meant nothing to me before this episode and hearing about it did not remind me of a show of which I was vaguely aware, even...but I would watch at least a couple of episodes of "Ottoman," so long as it's not on the History channel! I know I've seen a number of Petticoat Junction episodes--they used to rerun afternoons, so I would have seen them when I was home sick from school. It was soothing, so I think I slept through the second half of those episodes! I remember watching the Love Boat a lot in it's early seasons--didn't it play just before or just after Fantasy Island? Anyway, it was very good for watching while on the phone (the things with cords and rotary dials) with high school BFFs, which we did not call BFFs in those long ago days.

FINALLY AUTOMAN! I watched the whole series when it was released a few years ago. It aged really well. It is so 80s and tongue-in-cheek, it is a perfect microcosm of popular culture at the time. It didn't take itself seriously, and that is why it still works today. Unlike other shows... looking at you, Manimal!
