Perfect Strangers cultural diaspora? Every time I'm finished marking final papers I say to my wife in a bad Balki accent, "Now we do the Dance of Joy". Every time she just looks at me sadly. AND...AND the Toronto Blue Jays did a bit on their (now former) outfielder Colby Rasmus as Balki (Rasmus is from Georgia) coming to the big city. BAM! Perfect Strangers cultural diaspora. And this - a Perfect Strangers video game: http://nothingsgonnastopmenow.com/

As I might have said to Dave before, the advantage of doing Cultural Studies is that I can throw on an episode of Rockford Files (still one of my all-time faves) or Barney Miller (another all-time fave) and call it work. While you saps are doing hard stuff like stats, I'm groovin' to the bass line in the Barney Miller theme song.

That was a lot of shows. A lot a lot. Let's see, what can I remember... Yes, Perry Mason was a whole series of mysteries by Erle Stanley Gardner, whose first name is long-beloved by crossword puzzle creators. In high school I ran through our local branch library's stock of mysteries and the Perry Mason books were prominently featured. I hate the Little Rascals. I never got the Little Rascals and I never wanted to. I watched Zoom, the original, and I remember it quite well--the sequel was my sister's Zoom, but I sort of remember it. Thank you for that serenade at the end--and the Star Trek themes!

Steve, you're working under the assumption that I don't just go into rants about old tv shows while teaching stats..... Yes Rachel, it was a lot. I don't think any of us thought it would last as long as it did. I mean, I'm glad we did it and all. I was more an Electric Co. kid than anything, Zoom wasn't my bag.
Dave Brodbeck

But, Dave, have you tried the Perfect Strangers video game?
Steve Cloutier
I just thought of a show that was popular in the late 80s just making the cut of the 89 rule saved by the bell had some spinoffs if u want to call them that. there was saved by the bell the new class, and saved by the bell the college years, and other ones like. California dreams, hang time, city guys, one world, and so on.v loved them all. Jamie.
