I seem to remember that George Shlatter had his name under the titles of a show that basically taped stand up comedians stage acts in the 80s, maybe? And I do know Byron Allen--he does a show called "Entertainers with Byron Allen," which airs here on a channel called the LiveWell network on Sunday afternoons. (The network, such as it was, is actually defunct, but it airs on cable as WABCDT2, and has lots of reruns and ads for WABC.) (Joanie Loves Chachi I knew existed and that's it. I never watched it.)

Interesting idea about Chachi (who always seemed to be an arse - maybe he was too much like my local bully: an arse people seemed to think was cute) and the war. It's like they forgot the reason why Happy Days was set in the 50s: a perceived more innocent time than the 1960s with less social conflict.

Oh and I loved the shout out (as the youngsters say) to the California Golden Seals.

I'll try to add more mentions of defunct hockey teams in the future.....
