I worked for TV Books before it folded, so I worked on book designs for lots of TV shows! Mostly I didn't meet anyone associated with the shows, however, and the books I worked on were mostly based on PBS shows, or cable or BBC documentaries, and not much from the Best Episode Ever period of television, alas.
The weirdest was when I did the design and layout for the book on the first season of Survivor--they wanted the copies in the shops the day after the finale but no sooner, since it revealed the winner, and we had an armed guard in the office while we worked on that. I always wondered if he were protecting the manuscript from thieves or if he was supposed to shoot us if we called up friends and spilled the beans.
