I'm happily listening along and I hear the name Al Brodax--and while I never met him, I spoke with him and corresponded with him when I did the interior design for his book "Up Periscope Yellow." (He had no business being involved, but the publisher gave him my contact info, so.) He turned out to be easy to work with and very nice--he even invited me to the book launch party, the only time that ever happened to me. (If you want to see some of the book, Amazon has the "look inside" feature for it--http://smile.amazon.com/Up-Periscope-Yellow-Bea... --but I want to make it very clear that I had NOTHING to do with the cover! There's more of the design on my website: http://rachelreiss.com/?portfolio=up-periscope-...)

Rachel, that is simply awesome.
Dave
that is very cool - have done work for other TV producers? Might help us find new shows to discuss :)

:) I worked for TV Books before it folded, so I worked on book designs for lots of TV shows! Mostly I didn't meet anyone associated with the shows, however, and the books I worked on were mostly based on PBS shows, or cable or BBC documentaries, and not much from the Best Episode Ever period of television, alas. The weirdest was when I did the design and layout for the book on the first season of Survivor--they wanted the copies in the shops the day after the finale but no sooner, since it revealed the winner, and we had an armed guard in the office while we worked on that. I always wondered if he were protecting the manuscript from thieves or if he was supposed to shoot us if we called up friends and spilled the beans.

(Oops--not book designs for TV shows, book designs for books related to TV shows. Obviously.)

I loved this ep, mainly because the guy spelled Marc with a C just like me. That's pretty rare down here in the states. In all seriousness, though, great episode. It says a lot about how good you three are when I don't have any nostalgia for the shows you discuss but still love the episode!
