I am happy to say I saw none of these (nor Roots, if it comes to that), but it was probably more fun to listen to you guys talk about them than to see the actual shows. I do have an awful 1970s made-for-tv movie for you, though: "Champions: A Love Story." (I was going to tell you about it, but I don't want to spoil it for you...)
Rachel

The discussion of The Boy in the Plastic Bubble is now one of my all-time Best Episode Ever favorites! You all had me LOL'ing! I'm not sure how many times they showed it but I remember watching it some time in the late 70's, early 80's and now I want to see it again!
Jason
The Boy in the Bubble is definitely one of those classic 70s moments, but for whatever reason I had never done much research into the real-life boy who inspired it. 20 minutes later, now I'm fighting back tears. http://cbsn.ws/1GzbSMx What a tragic 12 years of existence for that kid. Rachel, Roots is required viewing.. get on that!
Sam
My wife LOVED John Travolta in "The Boy in the Bubble". We actually OWN both it and "Rescue From Gilligan's Island" on DVD. Bet you don't know anyone else who does. Never saw "Invitation to Hell".

Roots is tough to watch but good. It holds up well, I watched it about 10 years ago on the History channel. They are rebooting it this year as well. Levar Burton is one of the producers. The boy in the bubble is truly a sad tale. The movie is truly a poor excuse for whatever it was supposed to be....
Dave Brodbeck
When it comes to Roots, I read the book--or at least I tried to. Does that count?
Rachel
dave have you figured out the root of the problem
jamie
oh did everyone here about erle hammer creator of the waltons passed away.
jamie
Really enjoyed this one, the bubble boy jokes were solid gold. Not the dancers, just high quality. You know what I mean.
