SO MANY Scrooges...I do remember the Rich Little version--my dad liked Rich Little--so it must have shown up on network television at some point. (Or at least sections of it must have.) Gracie Allen WAS brilliant! Which George Burns constantly boasted of, he was her biggest booster. He used to describe their act as him saying, "What have you been doing, Gracie" and letting her go for half an hour. And their tv show was one of the earliest to break the 4th wall, he would talk directly to the audience. I think an Odd Couple Christmas Carol could have been hysterical--they could have fought over which of them was Scrooge, for starters. BTW, if you want to hear Neil Gaiman reading A Christmas Carol (from Dicken's own annotated-for-reading copy), go to the nypl.org site and click on the podcast link. :)

I wish Star Trek would have had an episode where it was Christmas. Not a Christmas episode per se, but one that took place in December and Christmas was a backdrop.

The idea of a Star Trek Christmas story feels like it happens. I know it didn't, but I keep feeling like if I try harder I'll remember one.

I also remember the RIch Little Christmas Carol. I remember thinking it was funny but I was 8 years old. I forgive me. Loved the Flintstones version. My favourite version of all time is Scrooged but that doesn't fit the Best Episode Ever guidelines. Elf is also one of the best Christmas movies ever.
