Thanks again for the feedback Jamie. I've thought of doing an episode on Eight is Enough. I'd have to watch an episode or two to refresh my memory. Maybe sometime soon!

I remember the original run of this, although I think I was only two at the time. That was back in the hey-day of Saturday morning TV. Ironically, it was not much stranger than a lot of the popular pre-school children's shows on now.

Jack Wild wasn't the star of Oliver but played the Artful Dodger in the movie. In fact he was so well known at the time for the role I believe there was a reference to him as the Artful Dodger in the Puffnstuff movie.

There was also a lawsuit against McDonalds because their characters were too close to the Puffnstuff characters.

Patrick, thanks for bringing up the Jack Wild/Artful Dodger confusion. As I recorded, I didn't want to go looking it up, but I checked afterward. In watching some of the shows my 5 year old nephew watches, kids programming has become laden with primary colors and repetitive dialogue. In as much as HR wasn't David Mamet, at least there were complex sentences. Also, the sets and costumes often looked more like a Pollock than a Mondrian... yikes! I feel so icky hipster after that last culture drop.
Thanks for listening and commenting!
