It seems nobody remembers the original beginning of the show which started with:
"Don't touch that dial, don't touch that other dial, and stop touching yourself! SCTV is now on the air."

Obviously it was cut for later airings and has practically been forgotten, but it was part of the first season when the show originally aired.

It also seemed to me that the best season. The show also tended to parody CityTV and their shows a lot.

I meant to say the first season was the best season but there's no editing feature on this.

I remember that intro. The first season did seem very Toronto-centric in its parody and I think that's why it picked on City as the independent network in the area. I have a hard time delineating "best" season for the show as most of my memories are specific sketches that are out of context with the episodes/seasons they appeared in.

Thanks for the comment!

I seem to recall an episode in which they over-dubbed an old western starring Ronald Reagan. (It wasn't the 'Cisco Kid" episode.) I remember a scene where Reagan was talking to a cowhand and pointing at various spots on a map saying "We could put an MX missile base here and a Trident submarine base there and..." Does anyone remember if this was in fact an SCTV episode or if I've got it mixed up with some other show?
